Robotics for Social Good: 'Bomb Squad' Simulation
In our Design for Social Good class, students were given a final project challenge: apply their CAD, electronics, and robotics skills to simulate robotics applications in military and law enforcement. The task was to create a user-friendly controller housing around an Arduino Leonardo. The controller remotely operated a robot that simulated the disarmament of a hypothetical explosive. Phones mounted on the robots streamed video to a separate control station through Zoom or FaceTime. Students documented the process with a screen recording and voice-over narration.
