My Three Projects
Inspired by Austin Kleon's Show Your Work and Daedelaus Howell's *Story Lab*I have added a new tab to cycelsoflearning.comcalled Projects:
Each month or so I plan to choose three projects that a) I am very passionate about and b) are incomplete, to work on publicly on this site via a linked website or a view only google doc. For the month of July three major projects rise to the top:
- As always, I plan to start from scratch and revise my AP Chemistry curriculum for the following year. Although I'm 14 years into teaching, nothing excites me more than revising and re-imagining how I go about engaging students.
- In two weeks I will be facilitating a STEM Academy with a colleague. This year the week long academy, given construction at our school site, will be taking place in a non-science room. Keeping this in mind, we have to re-think how we will run the academy without the use of chemicals, busnen burners, etc. We are planning to lead a week long investigation on circuits, beginning with simple Squishy Circuit construction and ending with Arduino.
- Lastly, on January 17th, Sacred Heart Cathedral will be hosting a youth TEDx event featuring the voice of teenagers in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am honored to be on the adult team leading this effort and excited to see what our students dream up and design!
In the spirit of both Kleon and Howell's work, I welcome any comments, suggestions, revisions, or feedback you have as I these projects grow.
